I invite you to check out a new interview recently done with me by the_bookish_mind. Follow the provided URL and click on the arrow at the right of each frame.
The entire answers to question 2 and 7 are not included because of allowed space which was not discussed with me at the time of doing the interview, otherwise I would have kept my answer to the alloted space, so I am including my entire answers here.
Question #2 What inspired you to write this book?
For your readers, you are referencing my grand scale novel, Passions in Paris: Revelations of a Lost Diary that was bascially my first novel. I had previously released the novel in two parts under the main title, Passion in Paris, the subtitles were Connections to the Past, followed by the second, Directions of the Heart. The first part was released by Xlibris in 2010 and the second part in 2011. However, at that time I was extremely inexperinced, and I felt the publisher could have done a by far better production as well as marketing job than they did. I wanted it done in one novel, but they talked me into publishing it in two parts which of course meant more money in their pocket, and then they did very little to promote it, and marketing was included in the cost of the package I bought for both parts. So, I terminated my contract, pulled the files, and totally revised the story with new content under the title, Passions in Paris: Revelations of a Lost Diary and published it through Create Space, now defunct, in one novel, thus the grand scale. I have always had an affinity for Paris, am a hopeless romantic, and I wanted to set my first romantic drama in Paris during the festive Christmas season.
Question #7
If you are planning a sequel to this book, can you share a tiny bit about your plans for it?
I'm not planning a sequel to Passions/Revelations; however, I have been asked if I would ever consider a prequel. That might be interesting, especially if it were based on the two rather predomient characters, Dr. André Des Jardin, and the main antagonist of the story, Philippe Robealard. In Passions/Revelations, it is explained how they meet, as well as why Dr. Des Jardin is so protective of Philippe throughout the story. It goes very deep, and it helps to assit the reader in understanding Philippe, but a prequel could provide a great scenario for revealing Philippe's unwarrented view of Cullen Malone and why he takes things to the extreme that he does. Might be something worth considering; I shall have to see. I wish to thank Maynak Mittal for this interview, and I hope it has allowed his readers and followers to know me better and consider checking out my body of work on all Amazons. Rusty Blackwood
