Book Review📚📚

Book Name: The Perils of Autumn📚📚

Author Name: Rusty Blackwood @10_a5m2

Ratings: 10/10

📚The Perils of Autumn is a poignant and compelling romantic drama that immerses readers in a world of love, loss, and unexpected connections. Set primarily in the early 1970s, the novel follows Autumn Leeves, a resilient young woman whose life is shaped by the hardships of her unmarried mother and the tragic death of her father.

📚Autumn’s journey takes a transformative turn when she becomes the caregiver for Alice Landon, the ailing matriarch of the prestigious Landon Lawns Stables—a renowned thoroughbred racing estate owned by the formidable Cyril Landon. As she navigates the complexities of this new environment, Autumn matures both personally and professionally, eventually completing her nursing education.

📚Rusty Blackwood’s writing is evocative and immersive, blending heartfelt emotion with rich, vivid imagery. Through Autumn’s experiences, Blackwood explores the multifaceted nature of love—between mother and daughter, between friends, and in the unexpected spark of romantic connection.

📚The novel skillfully weaves these themes into a layered narrative that speaks to the challenges of personal growth, the weight of hidden truths, and the redemptive power of human connection. The Perils of Autumn is a moving and deeply human story that lingers with readers long after the final page.

I am most pleased to share my latest review for Willow's Walk by Instagram Book reviewer, nerdybibliophilee. 👏

Book - “Willow’s Walk”

Ratings - 5/5🌟

A book that takes you on a poignant emotional journey through one woman’s complex life is quietly powerful, and Willow’s Walk by Rusty Blackwood is a prime example. Set in Ottawa in 2003, this romantic fiction drama delves deep into the life of Willow Sutherland-Crosby, a woman determined to find happiness at any cost. Exploring themes of abuse, deception, longing, and resilience, the story captivates from the start and refuses to let go.

What sets this novel apart is its emotional authenticity, which is deeply rooted in its flawed yet relatable heroine, Willow. The author’s heartfelt and immersive writing expertly balances vulnerability with suspense, making it impossible to put the book down. The plot twists are unexpected yet believable, lending a sense of raw authenticity to the story.

The supporting characters are equally well-developed, bringing complexity and richness to the narrative, with each chapter adding emotional depth through revelations about Willow’s past relationships and secrets. The novel raises important questions about personal agency, generational trauma, and the impact of our choices, leaving a lasting impression long after the final page.

I highly recommend Willow’s Walk to anyone who enjoys character driven fiction. It’s a page turner with a lot of heart.

A look at my upcoming novel.

---

Choosing one’s path in life can often be an overwhelming assortment of unanswered quandaries. When it hands you nothing but poverty, strife, with little chance of survival, the quandary seems impossible to resolve. For the deprived young Englishman, Cyril Landon, born into this stricken world of poverty just prior to WW1, the road in every aspect appeared hopeless.

The small village of South Wood Chester, Gloucestershire, England, offered little for its residents, and for young Cyril, the chance of success in any field appeared far removed from his grasp. But life underestimated this young man, for he was filled with determination, grit, and an endless drive to achieve much better than his station in life was offering, and he would not settle for less.

A labourer’s situation at a local farm outside his village provided a window into a possible future, one he had never given thought to, but through encouragement, plus a growing passion and respect for horses, an entire future was suddenly revealed. Young Cyril would willingly step through a door now opened, a door that would open many more, and he could not wait to see where they would lead. Little did he know at that time, just how far his choice would take him.

Delve into the pages of, Before the Grandeur: The Making of a Horsemaster, the edifying prequel to the thrilling Autumn Trilogy of books by Rusty Blackwood, certain to immerse you into the equestrian world of professional racing, concealed secrets, and an unfaltering love that will encase your heart.

It always warms my heart to come across articles centering on the eccentric Derwood J Tugbottom and his hilarious antics. I owe this loveable character to my late brother Rick Beecroft.

I believe he would be as pleased as I am to know how Derwood has touched so many lives. Please enjoy the article by taking the link below.

I invite you to check out a new interview recently done with me by the_bookish_mind. Follow the provided URL and click on the arrow at the right of each frame.
The entire answers to question 2 and 7 are not included because of allowed space which was not discussed with me at the time of doing the interview, otherwise I would have kept my answer to the alloted space, so I am including my entire answers here.
Question #2 What inspired you to write this book?
For your readers, you are referencing my grand scale novel, Passions in Paris: Revelations of a Lost Diary that was bascially my first novel. I had previously released the novel in two parts under the main title, Passion in Paris, the subtitles were Connections to the Past, followed by the second, Directions of the Heart. The first part was released by Xlibris in 2010 and the second part in 2011. However, at that time I was extremely inexperinced, and I felt the publisher could have done a by far better production as well as marketing job than they did. I wanted it done in one novel, but they talked me into publishing it in two parts which of course meant more money in their pocket, and then they did very little to promote it, and marketing was included in the cost of the package I bought for both parts. So, I terminated my contract, pulled the files, and totally revised the story with new content under the title, Passions in Paris: Revelations of a Lost Diary and published it through Create Space, now defunct, in one novel, thus the grand scale. I have always had an affinity for Paris, am a hopeless romantic, and I wanted to set my first romantic drama in Paris during the festive Christmas season.
Question #7
If you are planning a sequel to this book, can you share a tiny bit about your plans for it?
I'm not planning a sequel to Passions/Revelations; however, I have been asked if I would ever consider a prequel. That might be interesting, especially if it were based on the two rather predomient characters, Dr. André Des Jardin, and the main antagonist of the story, Philippe Robealard. In Passions/Revelations, it is explained how they meet, as well as why Dr. Des Jardin is so protective of Philippe throughout the story. It goes very deep, and it helps to assit the reader in understanding Philippe, but a prequel could provide a great scenario for revealing Philippe's unwarrented view of Cullen Malone and why he takes things to the extreme that he does. Might be something worth considering; I shall have to see. I wish to thank Maynak Mittal for this interview, and I hope it has allowed his readers and followers to know me better and consider checking out my body of work on all Amazons. Rusty Blackwood
