JANUARY NEWSLETTER!

Well here we are, one day shy of  ending the first month of 2012. Hard to believe, isn't it? How many New Year's resolutions have already been broken? It would be interesting to find out, yet how many would actully admit to breaking them, if, in fact, they made any -- like your's truly. I didn't, but then again I never do. Maybe it's my way of protecting myself from the feeling of failure when I realize I've not carried them through -- let alone blow them out of the water a mere month into the year they are sworn for.
Our winter here in Niagara has been kind, so far. Snow has been scarse -- sparse might be a better selection of adjective, but we've finally managed to achieve the Christmas card scene we should have experienced a month ago instead of the drab, dreary scenery presenting itself for our Christmas enjoyment. It would be interesting to hear from people in the southern hemisphere with regard to Christmas scenery, and what it was like for those who celebrate Christmas in the summer as opposed to us here who normally have cold, snowy weather during that merry time of year.
Now on to writing news:

I've once again began the book-signing rounds beginning last Saturday, January 28th. at CHAPTERS, Fairview Mall, St. Catharines, Ont. On the whole it was a good day, lots of people coming and going, and interesting chats with interesting people. That is one side of a book-signing that I truly enjoy. You never know what the topic might be, anything and everything from A to Z with interesting turns here and there along the way. I would hope those who take time to stop and chat find it as enjoyable as I do.
An early reminder for the upcoming month of February:

>>  I will be signing copies of my two-part romance/drama, "Passion in Paris" , as well my newest poetry collection "Impressions,"  and my newest children's short-story collection, "Through the Eyes of Innocence"  at COLES, Seaway Mall, Welland, Ont, from 1 to 5 pm on Saturday, February 4th.
=====
>> Just in time for Valentine's Day, interested parties can catch up with me on February 11th. at COLES, Pen Centre, St. Catharines, Ont. from 1 to 4 pm, as I once again sign copies of the seductive "Passion in Paris."  A beautiful, steamy read for these cold, Canadian nights.
=====
>> The monthly drawing at my website http://www.rusty-blackwood.com for a FREE, SIGNED copy of "Passion in Paris: Connections to the Past", the first book in the two-part story, continues with this month's winner: JOAN THWAITS!!

=====
>>  Newly available is my newest collection of short stories for children, as well the young at heart, entitled, "Through the Eyes of Innocence."  This 89 page paperback, cover image exclusively staged and photographed by the exciting, up and coming creative photographer, Miss Carson Doan, is based in part on the previously released, "Young Minds" ,   fictional inspiration, as well as my childhood memories growing up in rural southern-Ontario in the 1950's. This book is available at http://www.createspace.com, http://www.amazon.com, and http://www.rusty-blackwood.com.
=====
>> On-deck is the audacious, adult short-story comedy,"The Misadventures of Derwood Tugbottom."  Based on a fictional character created within my brother's delightful imagination, Derwood's outrageous retirement romp from 'Merry-ole- England to the 'colony of Canada', as well the people affected along the way, is sure to tickle your funnybone. Stay tuned for updates on the publication and availiblityof this title.

As I bring this newsletter to a close I would like to once again thank each and every one of you who very kindly support my work through comments, likes, shares, conversations, and of course, purchase. Please know how much it is appreciated.
